Genomics of microevolution
In this line of research, we are interested in understanding what kinds of genomic changes are associated with selection for increased tibia length in Longshanks. For example, how many loci were affected? Are these loci in protein-coding or regulatory regions? Are they parallel in the two Longshanks lines?

Genomics of selection response: In this project, which is a collaboration with Frank Chan (MPI, Tuebingen), and Nick Barton (IST, Vienna), we are looking into the nature of the genomic response to selection in Longshanks after 17 generations, and how it holds up to predictions of the "infinitesimal" model of quantitative trait evolution. For more, see our article in eLife, and the accompanying digest.
